Daddy, we knew your most precious desire was seeing the Lord, going by that song you composed (about the most precious thing in life) and ususally sang to us at those moments you wanted us to deeply reflect how immaterial world’s offers are, hence the need to look up keeping our gaze on the kingdom of God and His righteousness. You chose to leave the struggles behind, but you chose right daddy. Your daily thirst, hunger and longing was loving Him, knowing Him and seeing Him and when your Father, Lord, Saviour, Master and Senior Partner beckoned, you heeded. Who are we to question His decision? Neither can we question your decision to yield to that utmost call. But we thank God for your life sir. You led an examplary life, you were selfless, humble, peaceful, generous, loving, caring, wise, understanding, patient, teachable, painstaking, hardworking, faithful and God-fearing. You saw no wrong in anyone, always willing to give endless second chances. You went all out to mend fences, you didn’t mind pleading even at no fault of yours, you forgave ahead even when we were at fault. For you, there was nothing that couldn’t be discussed, there was nothing that couldn’t be reconsidered, there was no challenge however big that didn’t have a way out, all you needed was to be given time to pray about it and think it through. “Just give me time” was your word and indeed even when we struggled to give you time, we always realized that the outcome was worth the time given to you in the place of prayers, patience and deep thinking. For you, wisdom is greater than strength. In stormy times you were there daddy. You were there praying, fasting and following up tirelessly to keep tab of unfolding events. Your words and counsel at those vigils were always assuring and kept us at peace even in the face of the storms. Those pats on the back with the reassuring words “relax, it is settled” were comforting. We looked forward to celebrating together but you left us for a better celebration up on high with the One Who is and will always be our Victory. Sure, you are celebrating already! You were a teacher; a teacher of God’s word, a teacher of life’s lessons, a teacher at work places. You were blessed with an uncommon teaching virtue. You gave time to details, you gave time to your audience, you gave time to your students, even when you didn’t have enough of it. You corrected in love, you disciplined with grace, you scolded with tenderness, yet you passed your message of correction. Those who worked with you at various projects within and outside the ministry will attest to the fact that God endowed you graciously with knowledge, wisdom, understanding and an excellent spirit. You were a boss any team would desire have! No amount of words can express how grateful we are to God to have known you. We cannot thank God enough to have been led by you, positively impacted by you and built by you. We take comfort in the assurance that you are now in a better and glorious place. We thank God for the legacies you left behind but seek God’s grace to enable us lead life like you did. We trust the Holy Ghost to comfort and encourage your family inclduing we your children in this time and beyond. Rest on daddy, our father, our friend, our coach, our mentor, and our boss. We miss you dearly. The Okolies
